Aldercar High School - In Pursuit of Excellence Hours: 20 hours per week Working pattern: Monday-Friday, 7:00 - 8:00am and 3:00pm-6:00pm Weeks per year: 39 Contract: Grade 3 Aldercar High School is seeking a reliable, motivated Cleaner to join our friendly site team. You will play an important part in helping us maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. The post is for 20 hours per week, normally worked as a split shift of 7:00am to 8:00am and 3:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. We would also welcome applications from candidates who are only available to work the 3:00pm to 6:00pm shift. About the Role As a Cleaner, you will carry out a range of cleaning duties in line with agreed standards and schedules. This includes the safe and effective use of cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor machines, steam cleaners and carpet cleaners, as well as the safe handling of cleaning chemicals. You will work as part of a small, supportive team under the direction of the Site Manager. Key Responsibilities Undertake general cleaning duties across the school site Operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively Use approved cleaning chemicals responsibly Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness Follow the school’s Health & Safety procedures at all times Contribute to risk awareness by identifying and reporting issues About You We’re looking for someone who has: Experience of performing cleaning tasks in a working environment Basic literacy skills to follow written instructions Awareness of safe working practices A good work ethic, time management skills and reliability Ability to work well as part of a team Willingness to undertake relevant training (Desirable) Knowledge of a full range of cleaning methods and equipment (Desirable) NVQ Level II in Cleaning or willingness to work toward it Safeguarding Aldercar High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
