About the role

St Georges CofE (Aided) Primary School are looking to appoint a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to join our friendly site team. The successful candidate will help maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment for pupils, staff and visitors. As Cleaner in Charge and Key Holder, they will coordinate the day-to-day activities of the cleaning team, support the maintenance of high cleaning standards, and help ensure the security of the school premises through effective opening, closing and site security procedures. The successful candidate will also be able to adapt to the changing needs of a busy school environment. Key Information: This post is for 18.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday term time plus two weeks (40 weeks). Duties will include: Cleaning classrooms, offices and communal areas Hoovering, sweeping and mopping floors Cleaning toilets and wash areas Emptying bins and disposing of waste correctly Using cleaning equipment and products safely Adapting cleaning tasks as required to meet the needs of the school The ideal candidate will: Be hardworking, dependable and trustworthy Have good attention to detail Be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities Be able to work independently and as part of a team Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential We warmly encourage visits to the school. The successful candidate will be required to follow the relevant safeguarding procedures, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) guidance, and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
