Job description

The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, delivering pre-planned learning activities and ensuring that pupils remain engaged, safe and motivated in their learning. The successful candidate will: Have experience of working with primary-aged children. Have excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills. Have strong behaviour management skills and be able to create a positive learning environment. Be confident working across the full primary age range (mainly 7-11 years). Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents. Be highly motivated, resourceful and committed to ensuring the highest possible standards of achievement, personal development and wellbeing for all pupils. Have high expectations and an absolute belief in the potential of every child. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative and a commitment to continued professional development. Be fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Main Duties Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, delivering pre-planned learning activities. Manage pupil behaviour in line with school policies and procedures. Provide accurate feedback to teachers regarding pupil engagement, progress and behaviour. Support pupils' learning, wellbeing and personal development across the school. Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for all children. Respond appropriately to any issues that arise during lessons, following school policies and procedures. The successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and all other pre-employment checks.
