Job description

Cover Supervisor Location: Challney High School for Boys Contract Type: Permanent, Term time plus five training days Hours of work: 37 hours per week. The working day will start at 8:30am and finish at 4:30pm, finishing at 4:00pm one day a week. Salary: L4 - Actual salary from £24,470 per annum Closing date: 9am on Wednesday 23rd September 2026 Over view of the job To facilitate and encourage learning which enables pupils to achieve the highest possible standards: to share and support the corporate responsibility for the well-being, education and discipline of all pupils. Purpose of the post To supervise classes during the short and medium term absence of the class teacher under the guidance of teaching/senior staff. Assist the Lead Cover Supervisor in organising all aspects of the administration of cover including acting upon messages from absent staff; writing and distributing the cover rota for the day each morning; recording reasons for absence; ensuring that this information is shared. Bromcom knowledge would be an advantage, but training will be given.
