Job description

EAL Coordinator Location: Kempston Academy, Bedford Contract: Permanent Hours of Work: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term time only + training days) Salary: Level 6 Point 21- 25 £ 29,759 - £32,650 per annum Closing Date: Friday 18th September 2026 at 9:00am We are looking to appoint a passionate and skilled EAL Coordinator who is able to target and support identified students to help them overcome barriers to learning both within and outside school or college. The role will involve leading on the direct support for EAL students, working in partnership with the senior leadership team, teachers and support staff to investigate and share language profiles and education history with relevant staff. The successful candidate will provide and co-ordinate language support specific to the needs of the secondary curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4, especially in English, Maths and Science.
