Oasis Academy John Williams is a forward-thinking Academy that maintains high expectations of staff and students. Our focus is on our children, staff wellbeing, and community; parents and the wider community are engaged with our school, supporting our leaders, and playing an active role in community transformation through academy-led projects. We are proud of our relational climate and model a culture and atmosphere of genuine warmth. Job/Person Summary
Examinations are among the most important and stressful events in the life of any learner. It is essential that examinations are conducted in the correct way, and invigilators are crucial to this process. The post holder will join a team of invigilators who support the academy by providing a high-quality service. They ensure a calm environment for the examinations, giving candidates confidence in the process and freeing up teachers to focus on teaching. Previous experience of invigilating is not a requirement as full training will be provided. We require individuals interested in seasonal work this November and through the busy exam periods in February, May and June..
Preparing the examination room, ensuring that tables are set out correctly, clocks are set at the correct time, basic equipment and water are available;
Admitting candidates to the room in a quiet and orderly fashion, ensuring that they sit in the correct place as specified on the seating plan;
Ensuring that candidates have the correct examination paper and relevant equipment;
Conducting the examination according to the Examination guidelines and informing the lead invigilator and/or Examinations Officer of any misconduct or problems;
Monitoring the conduct of the examination by being constantly vigilant and not doing any other task;
Collecting in papers and equipment at the end of the examination and helping to sort them ready for dispatch to the Examinations board.
Please apply online via eTeach. For further information or an informal discussion about the role and the academy, please contact Husna Akram at the Academy. **We are actively vetting applications for the November 2026 exam period, so please apply as soon as possible.** Please note: Oasis Community Learning does not accept unsolicited CVs or speculative introductions from recruitment agencies. We work strictly with agencies on our Preferred Supplier List (PSL), and any CVs submitted outside of this agreement will not be liable to an introduction fee.
