About the role

One school. Two sites. One very special community. Greenleas School is seeking an experienced, inspiring and people-focused leader to guide our successful school into its next chapter. Operating across two thriving sites in Leighton Buzzard, Greenleas combines the opportunities of a large school with something increasingly rare: a genuine family feel. We are proud of our strong reputation, excellent Early Years provision and positive outcomes, but prouder still of our nurturing culture, where children and colleagues are understood as individuals and relationships really matter.

The opportunity:

As our new Executive Headteacher, you will lead alongside a talented and committed team of staff, experienced senior leaders and a supportive governing body. Highly visible across both schools, you will combine strategic vision with a collaborative and approachable leadership style, empowering staff to excel and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

You will bring:

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking leader who can protect what makes Greenleas special whilst leading innovation, continuous improvement and the school’s future strategic direction. You will bring experience, resilience and sound financial understanding, helping us navigate future opportunities and challenges, strengthen our inclusive provision and build on the strong foundations already in place. You will be empathetic and people-centred , fostering trust and stability while supporting and inspiring a committed team of long-serving staff through the next phase of the school's journey. In return, you will find wonderful children, dedicated staff, supportive governors and a school community that cares deeply about its future.

Next steps:

We warmly encourage prospective candidates to visit both sites and experience first-hand the warmth, ambition and family feel that makes Greenleas so special. Please contact Alexia Cook to arrange a time on 01525 371735/ 385356 or office@greenleas.net If you would like to speak to us about this opportunity, please contact Co-Chairs of Governors, Gemma Kincaid and James Emm, on cog@greenleas.net to agree a time to talk. If you can preserve the best of Greenleas while shaping an ambitious, sustainable and exciting future for our school community, we would love to hear from you. Greenleas School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check as well as other pre-appointment checks, including an online check, as outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2026).
