Join Our Team and Help Create a Safe, Clean Learning Environment Wellspring Academy Trust is looking for a reliable and dedicated Cleaner to join our friendly team. This is an important role where you’ll help ensure our schools remain clean, safe and welcoming places for children, staff and visitors. We currently have a role working 20 hours per week, 43 weeks per year based at The Forest School (North Yorks)- Park Lane, Knaresborough, HG5 0DQ Successful applicants will work as part of a team to ensure a high level of customer service, and adhere to procedures such as; health and safety, COSHH and risk assessments. As a Cleaner, you will carry out a full range of cleaning duties across teaching spaces, offices and communal areas, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained. Your responsibilities will include: Cleaning classrooms, offices and communal areas using appropriate equipment (mopping, sweeping, buffing, suction cleaning and machine scrubbing) Cleaning internal surfaces including walls, windows, worktops and sanitary facilities Emptying bins and removing waste safely Carrying out specialist cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, stain removal and descaling Replenishing hygiene supplies (soap, hand towels, toilet rolls) Conducting routine equipment safety checks and basic maintenance Reporting damage, faults or concerns promptly Locking and unlocking school premises and ensuring site security Maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding standards at all times What We’re Looking For We are seeking someone who: Can work independently and as part of a team Has an awareness of health and safety practices Is able to carry out physical tasks including lifting and climbing Follows instructions carefully and works to high standards Demonstrates integrity and professionalism Is flexible and willing to undertake relevant training Is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion Has previous cleaning experience (desirable, not essential — full training provided) No formal qualifications are required — we value attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn.
