Job description

We are looking for a Lead First Aider who is able to contribute to the health and medical welfare of students. You will be the first point of contact for any first aid emergencies. You must be a friendly and approachable person who enjoys working with young people and is able to give immediate help to pupils with common injuries and illnesses. First Aid experience is essential for this position and previous experience of working in a school or working with young people is preferred. Edgbarrow School believes in setting the highest standards in all areas of school life and we are looking for a purposeful and committed individual who wants to join and enhance our strong team. We can offer the following: Excellent induction programme. A comprehensive CPD package for staff. Extremely supportive working environment, including a dedicated team of senior and middle leaders. An Employee Assistance Scheme which provides information and advice to support physical and mental wellbeing. Access to Benenden Health Care scheme. High priority in the admission process for children of staff attending the school. Staff benefits including cycle to work, eyecare vouchers, eligibility for Blue Light discount card & free onsite gym. Staff events from sporting activities to cake at break and end of term get togethers. Highly regarded pension scheme. Free on-site parking. Edgbarrow School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. It is essential that all members of staff and volunteers share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for all posts. Edgbarrow is located in the village of Crowthorne, Berkshire which is located approximately 3 miles from Wokingham and Camberley and 12 miles from Reading. It enjoys excellent links to surrounding villages, towns and cities via the M3, M4, A329M and local rail networks. It is a thriving, vibrant and high-achieving secondary school where students are polite, happy, well behaved and motivated. The last Ofsted report judged Edgbarrow School as outstanding. If you are interested in joining Edgbarrow School and you have the skills and the qualities required for this post, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please note that all applications will be considered upon receipt, therefore an early reply is recommended. We reserve the right to close the advert early should the right candidate apply. Employment is with Corvus Learning Trust and not Bracknell Forest Council. The trust is very popular and for most posts a large number of applications are received - it is thus not possible to notify all applicants of the outcome. Please accept that if you have not heard within three weeks of the closing date then, unfortunately, your application has been unsuccessful - in which case we offer our best wishes for the future. Closing Date: Monday 21st September 2026 For further information regarding the school please see www.edgbarrowschool.co.uk
