This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced HLTA who is confident working independently, leading learning and making a real difference to children’s progress and wellbeing. About the role The successful candidate will be an experienced HLTA who can confidently work alongside class teachers and take responsibility for leading learning across the school.
Leading class teaching during teachers’ PPA / management time. Supervising classes when teachers are temporarily unavailable and undertaking short, pre-planned absences. Planning and delivering high-quality learning activities for whole classes, small groups and individual pupils. Playing a significant role in our intervention and catch-up programme, leading & organising small group interventions to enable pupils to make progress. Supporting pupils with SEND and ensuring that all children are included and able to access learning. Using effective behaviour management strategies and maintaining high expectations of pupil behaviour and conduct. Monitoring and observing pupil performance and sharing information with class teachers and other professionals. Working confidently and collaboratively with teachers and other support staff. Directing the work of other adults where appropriate. Contributing to the planning, assessment and evaluation of learning. Making a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
Has substantial experience working at HLTA level within a school environment. Is confident leading whole-class learning and delivering PPA cover. Has experience planning and delivering interventions and targeted support. Can work independently, use initiative and take responsibility for ensuring pupils receive high-quality learning and support. Has high expectations of children’s learning, behaviour and personal development. Has experience supporting pupils with SEND and promoting inclusion. Builds positive and professional relationships with children, colleagues and families. Is organised, reliable and able to manage their workload effectively. Communicates confidently and works well as part of a wider team. Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children.
