About the role

We are seeking a motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), enabling them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. Oxted School is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Maths to support high quality teaching and learning. This is a full-time, term time position, working 36 hours per week / 39 weeks per year. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide guidance to and oversee Teaching Assistants. Deliver tailored learning interventions to meet students’ individual needs. Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support classroom management and behaviour strategies. Uphold safeguarding policies and promote student well-being. Key Responsibilities Supporting delivery of curriculum-aligned interventions and activities. Planning and delivering lessons to individuals, groups, or whole classes as required. Monitoring and assessing student progress through data and feedback. Reporting concerns, incidents, or safeguarding issues in line with policies. Providing line management for Teaching Assistants. Qualifications and Skills Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English and Maths) or equivalent. HLTA status or relevant Level 2/3 qualifications (e.g., NNEB). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Competence with IT tools and ability to analyse and present data. Experience working in a similar role within education or SEND environments. Proven organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
