About the role
Build trust. Break down barriers. Change futures.
Some young people need more than a traditional classroom approach. They need someone who understands them, believes in them and knows how to help them succeed.
At Kingsway Park High School, we're looking for an experienced, confident and compassionate SEMH Inclusion Practitioner to join Seacole, our dedicated Personalised Pathways Provision (PPP).
Seacole supports students who experience social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, challenges with emotional regulation and barriers to accessing mainstream education. Through positive relationships, structured support and targeted interventions, we help students rebuild confidence, develop essential skills and successfully reintegrate into mainstream learning.
This is not a traditional classroom support role. We're looking for someone who brings practical SEMH expertise, sound professional judgement and the ability to respond calmly and confidently when situations become challenging.
The opportunity
As our SEMH Inclusion Practitioner, you'll:
Build positive, trusting relationships with students who need individualised support to engage successfully in education.
Deliver and adapt targeted SEMH interventions, helping students develop emotional regulation, resilience and positive coping strategies.
Respond confidently to challenging behaviour, using effective de-escalation and relational approaches.
Support individual and small-group learning, adapting activities to meet students' needs.
Contribute to personalised support and reintegration plans, helping students make a successful return to mainstream lessons.
Work closely with the Seacole Lead, colleagues, families and other professionals to secure meaningful progress for students.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone with proven experience of supporting young people with significant SEMH needs and behaviours that challenge .
You might currently work in an SEMH school, alternative provision, pupil referral unit, specialist setting, residential childcare or another environment where you've developed strong practical skills in supporting young people with complex needs.
You'll understand that behaviour is often a form of communication, that progress isn't always straightforward and that consistency, patience and positive relationships can make an extraordinary difference.
You'll be resilient, adaptable and confident in your professional judgement, with the ability to balance compassion with clear expectations and appropriate boundaries.
Above all, you'll believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the barriers they face.
Why Kingsway Park?

If you have the experience, resilience and commitment to make a real difference to young people who need it most, we'd love to hear from you.
