About the role

Tapping Head Teacher: Mrs J Ward KITCHEN ASSISTANT VACANCY Salary: Sunderland Scale 2 SCP 3-4 £24,796 - 25,185 per annum (pro rata to £8445.95 - £8,768.38) Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: 15hours per week, term time only + 3 days, Fixed term until 31/08/2027 Shift pattern: Mon-Fri 10.30am- 13.30pm St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School is part of Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust which is one of four Trusts in the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle. The Trust includes five Secondary and twenty-five Primary Schools across South Tyneside, Sunderland and East Durham. Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust safeguards and protects its students and staff by being committed to respond in accordance with South Tyneside Child Protection Procedures. Enhanced DBS checks are mandatory for all school staff. St. Patrick’s are looking to appoint a Kitchen Assistant to our catering team. Duties include but are not exclusive to the following: Observing Health and Safety Regulations as directed by Cook Assisting with basic food preparation and service of meals Ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in the catering areas including cleaning tables, washing up, brushing and mopping floors Assisting with the setting up and dismantling of dining furniture. Observing correct portion sizes Maintaining attractive food presentation through all services. Encouraging children to choose healthy meal options Completing temperature record forms Completing cleaning schedule checklists Reporting any deficiencies, damage or defects to equipment or suppliers to the Cook.
