North Kent Colleges Group has an exciting opportunity with five newly created Pastoral Support Coach roles across our four Colleges.

In this rewarding role, you’ll provide pastoral support, guidance and early intervention to help students overcome barriers, stay engaged with their studies and achieve their goals. You’ll build positive relationships with students and work closely with curriculum teams, Welfare & Safeguarding, Learning Support, parents, carers and external agencies to make sure students receive the right support at the right time.

You’ll play a key role in identifying and addressing barriers to attendance, engagement, retention and achievement, providing timely support to students who may be at risk of disengaging. You’ll also use student information to identify concerns early and help develop strategies that support positive outcomes.

Reporting directly to the College Deputy Principal, you’ll contribute to a proactive prevention and ‘early help’ approach as part of the wider Learning Support Team. You’ll work alongside Welfare and Safeguarding colleagues to support effective safeguarding and make use of external agency and outreach support where appropriate.

We’re looking for someone who is dynamic, flexible, proactive and an excellent communicator, with the confidence to build positive relationships with young people from a wide range of backgrounds. You’ll be organised, collaborative and able to use your initiative to identify challenges and find positive solutions.

Experience in pastoral support, mentoring, youth work, education, welfare or a similar setting would be beneficial, but we’re equally interested in your transferable skills, values and passion for supporting young people.
