Southgate Primary School is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and experienced EYFS Learning Assistant (Level 2) to join our dedicated Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for supporting young children and helping to create a nurturing, stimulating environment where every child can flourish.
Your Opportunity
We are seeking an individual with strong Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) knowledge and experience who understands how young children learn best through play, exploration, and positive relationships. Working closely with our EYFS Leader and wider team, you will play a vital role in supporting children's learning, development, and well-being, helping them build the confidence and skills they need for a successful start to school life.
As a key member of our Early Years provision, you will:
Support high-quality teaching and learning across the EYFS curriculum.
Act as a key worker, building positive relationships with children and families.
Encourage children's curiosity, independence, and social development through engaging learning experiences.
Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child feels valued and supported.
Contribute to assessment and observations to help monitor and celebrat e children's progress.
What we're looking for
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have recent experience working within an EYFS setting and who are passionate about early childhood development.
Essential requirements include:
A good general education, including GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
A Level 2 Childcare qualification (Level 3 desirable).
Experience of working within an EYFS environment.
A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and child development.
Up-to-date safeguarding training.
A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Salary: GLF Associate 2 - £24,751
Actual Salary: £21,441.00
Hours: Term Time Only (39 Weeks) - 36.25hrs per week
