About the role

Job title : Learning Support Assistant Contract type : Fixed term until 31/08/2027 Hours : 27.5 per week Working weeks : Term time + 5 INSET Salary : PATH 4 £26,847 FTE, £17,067 prorated About the role We are looking to recruit three Learning Support Assistants to work at our Worle Community School site in Weston-super-Mare, a five minute drive from the M5 junction, 2.9 miles from the beach, and with strong public transport links. This is an exciting opportunity within our SEND team, with the aim of supporting our students by enabling them to engage confidently and independently in their learning. Main duties and responsibilities include: Deliver classroom support for pupils, planned and supervised by teachers. Support colleagues by assisting with resource preparation, display and care and support of pupils including health care. Keep records of work in order to provide feedback and general support. Accurately record student records and liaise with colleagues, parents, carers and third parties when necessary. About you You’re someone who brings warmth, initiative and a deep commitment to inclusive education. You understand that every student is unique and you’re ready to support them in reaching their full potential—academically, socially and emotionally. We’re looking for someone who: Has experience supporting pupils with individual needs, particularly those with SEN needs Can work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing needs Is confident delivering pre-planned lessons to small groups Builds strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and families Is a role model for professionalism, positivity, and care Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people Has a good general education (GCSE grade 4 or above in Maths and English or Level 2 equivalent) About us At Priory Community School Academy, we put Students First.
