Uffington CE Primary School is looking to appoint a number of reliable, caring and enthusiastic Casual Wraparound & Lunchtime Assistants to join our friendly team. This is a flexible, zero-hours, term-time role, providing an opportunity to work across our breakfast club, lunchtime and after school provision when additional support is needed. The casual nature of the role means it could work particularly well for someone looking for a little extra work alongside other commitments, or someone who enjoys working with children but doesn't want the commitment of fixed weekly hours.
Hours will vary depending on the needs of the school and your availability. Typical sessions are: Breakfast Club: approximately 7:30am-9:00am
Lunchtime: approximately 11:45am-1:15pm
After School Club: approximately 3:00pm-5:45pm
There is flexibility around which sessions you work, and you will not be expected to commit to every session. We are looking for people who can provide occasional or regular support, depending on their availability.
You will help us provide high-quality care and positive experiences for children outside of their classroom learning. This will include: Welcoming, supervising and engaging with pupils
Supporting play, activities and positive social interaction
Helping to provide a safe, calm and enjoyable environment
Supporting children during lunchtime and wraparound sessions
Preparing and serving food where appropriate
Promoting positive behaviour and relationships
Working as part of our wider school team
Enjoys working with children and can build positive relationships
Is reliable, flexible and able to work as part of a team
Has a calm, caring and positive approach
Is able to respond appropriately to the needs of different children
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Experience of working with children is desirable, although full training and support will be provided. The role would suit someone with experience in education, childcare or similar settings, as well as those looking to develop their experience.
Uffington CE Primary School is a small, friendly village school with a strong sense of community and wonderful pupils. We are proud of our welcoming and supportive staff team and the positive relationships we build with our children and families. Working in a small school means you really get to know the children, become part of the team and see the difference you make. If you live locally and are looking for flexible work in a positive school environment, we'd love to hear from you.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Closing date: Sunday 18th October 2026 Interview dates: Thursday 22nd or Friday 23rd October 2026
