About the role

As a member of our team, you will play a key role in supporting positive lunchtimes and play experiences, helping to create a positive and inclusive environment where all pupils can thrive. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to making a difference in children’s education. This is a rewarding and varied role that offers the opportunity to develop your skills and experience while making a meaningful contribution to the school community. The successful candidate will have a high standard of spoken and written English. They will be patient, caring, creative and motivated and will be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. This role involves: Ensuring the safety, happiness and good conduct of pupils during the lunch break Hours of Work 0 hour / as and when we need you and you are available , term time only, between 2-3 hours per day depending on cover that is needed (Monday to Friday) Duties and Responsibilities may include: Supervising pupils in the restaurant, playground and school premises, including the toilets and cloakrooms Encouraging children to play safely and helping with play activities Helping children at mealtimes - this may involve helping some children to cut up their food, showing them how to use cutlery and encouraging good table manners Cleaning up spillages and making sure that tables are clean and cleaning the restaurant after service Ensuring sick or injured pupils receive First Aid from the staff on duty in the Medical Room Being vigilant and raising concerns about individual pupils or groups of pupils if you feel their play is unsafe. NB It is advisable to apply as soon as possible as interviews will take place as applications come in. An enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) and health checks are required for the successful applicant.
