Job description

St Joseph's Catholic Primary School is looking to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisor. As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that pupils have a safe, enjoyable, and well-managed break during the school day. This role is ideal for someone who is caring, observant, and confident in working with children in a busy school environment. You will be responsible for supervising pupils during the lunch period—both in the dining hall and in outdoor or indoor play areas—encouraging positive behaviour, promoting healthy eating, and supporting social interaction. Your duties may include helping younger children with meals, managing queues, resolving minor disputes, and ensuring that all pupils are safe and engaged during their break. Working as part of a wider pastoral and support team, you’ll help create a calm and inclusive atmosphere where pupils feel supported and respected. You’ll also be expected to follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns to the appropriate staff. This is a rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to pupils’ wellbeing and daily school experience.
