About the role

The Job:

Pleckgate High School seek to appoint a Teacher of Mathematics on a permanent contract from January 2027.

What does this job do? Be a well-qualified mathematics specialist Have experience of designing engaging learning opportunities which promote mathematical understanding Have an excellent understanding of how to assess pupils progress and make adaptations to the learning experience to allow all pupils to be successful Be able to demonstrate to support offered to learners that struggle with aspects of mathematics Be passionate about the teaching of mathematics and knowledgeable of mathematics pedagogy To contribute to the continuous development of the curriculum that is responsive to the needs of pupils in our school To contribute to departmental CPD in order that all pupils receive a consistent, high quality teaching experience in the department

What are the job requirements? To assist in the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies and teaching strategies in the subject area. To contribute to the subject area’s Development Plan and its implementation. To attend all appropriate meetings. To plan and prepare courses and lessons. To contribute to the whole Academy’s planning activities To assist the Subject Leader to ensure that the curriculum area provides a range of teaching which complements the Academy’s Strategic Objectives. To continue personal development in the relevant areas including subject knowledge and teaching methods To communicate effectively with the parents of pupils as appropriate
