About the role
Do you enjoy working with children, have a friendly and positive approach, and love helping young people feel happy, safe and included? If so, we'd love to hear from you!
We're looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Midday Supervisor to join our school community and help make lunchtimes a positive, enjoyable experience for every pupil.
Lunchtime is about much more than just eating! It's an important part of the school day when children develop friendships, build confidence, learn to work together and, of course, have some fun.
As part of our friendly school team, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where every child feels valued.
What will you be doing?
Supervising and supporting pupils during lunchtime, both in the dining areas and around the school.
Encouraging positive behaviour, kindness, inclusion and cooperation.
Helping children develop independence and good social skills.
Supporting pupils during mealtimes and ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Making lunchtimes a happy, safe and enjoyable part of the school day.
What are we looking for?
You don't need to have worked in a school before. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being around children and can bring patience, warmth and a positive attitude to the role.
You'll be a great communicator, a supportive team player and someone who can use their initiative when needed. Most importantly, you'll understand that even the smallest interactions can make a lasting difference to a child's day.

Being part of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust
St. Joseph’s School strives to enable every child to reach their own potential. Whilst we are proud, and rightly so, of our academic achievements, which continue to be among the best in the City, developing the whole child is equally, if not more important. Critical to this, however, is the support we give the children as they continue their spiritual journey by helping them develop a fuller understanding of their faiths and beliefs.
The St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust, part of the Diocese of Nottingham, brought together 25 Catholic schools located in Derby City, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire and Stockport together in partnership, to ensure the very best spiritual, social and academic experiences and outcomes for the young people in our schools.
Everything we do is to better the lives and futures of our children, providing access to first-class teaching, both academically and spiritually and we are united by our collective vision to excel.
Why join us?
As part of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust, you'll be joining a supportive family of schools committed to helping every child flourish.
We offer a range of benefits, including access to professional development opportunities, a generous Local Government Pension Scheme, an Employee Assistance Programme and the opportunity to be part of a welcoming and caring school community.
Ready to make a difference, one lunchtime at a time?
If you're someone who enjoys working with children and wants a rewarding role that fits around the school day, we'd love to receive your application.
