Midday Supervisor Location: Heathwood Lower School Salary: NJC level 3 £13.28/hr
Start Date: ASAP Are you a warm, energetic, and caring individual who enjoys working with young children? Do you want to play a vital role in making lunchtime a safe, fun, and happy part of the school day? Heathwood Lower School is a thriving lower school looking for a dedicated Midday Supervisor to join our friendly lunch team. In this role, you will help our pupils aged 4 to 9 develop healthy eating habits, practice good manners, and engage in safe, active play.
Supervise children in the dining hall, assisting them with opening packaging, using cutlery, and maintaining a clean environment.
Lead and encourage playground games, ensuring all children are included, active, and safe.
Manage pupil behaviour positively in line with the school's behaviour policy.
Attend to minor accidents and administer basic first aid (training will be provided).
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other supervisors to ensure a smooth transition between morning lessons and afternoon registration.
A patient, kind, and approachable manner with young children.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
A proactive attitude toward children's safety and well-being.
Flexibility and a good sense of humour.
Previous experience working with children is desirable, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are most important.
A supportive, welcoming, and inclusive school community.
Comprehensive induction and ongoing training (including safeguarding and first aid).
Term-time only working hours, perfectly suited to fit around family or other commitments.
Heathwood Lower School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and provide satisfactory references.
