About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic teacher of Girls’ PE to join our thriving PE department. Our PE Department is known for its excellence in teaching and learning, in addition to a strong co-curricular provision with clubs running before, during and after school. Pupils enjoy competing in more than 350 external sports fixtures across a variety of sports and House sport plays a key role in the wider life of school. PE is a very popular course choice, with BTEC, GCSE and A Level consistently delivering excellent results. The Department boasts superb facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, sports hall, huge playing fields, cricket nets, floodlit multi-purpose pitches, gym, dance studio and fitness suite. A Level experience would be an advantage but is not essential. The successful candidate will be expected to play a full part in the co-curricular programme. For applicants keen to develop their pastoral leadership, we are also recruiting for a Deputy Head of House. This offers an exciting opportunity to play a central role in our House community, champion pupils’ wellbeing and help them achieve their potential.

We offer:

a fantastic location next to an area of outstanding natural beauty and fast rail to London (45 minutes); an open and collaborative community which trusts its teachers; outstanding facilities and resources; high quality research-based professional development; a range of personal benefits, including Cycle to Work Scheme, on site leisure centre and an active staff social committee; strong discipline through rigid procedures for managing behaviour including centralised detentions; a commitment to the wellbeing of our staff including flexible working hours;

We would like you to be:

experienced in teaching Physical Education at Key Stage 3 and 4, with the ability to teach BTEC and A Level an advantage; able to teach netball, football and cricket to a high standard, which would be an advantage; creative, forward-thinking attitude and unapologetically passionate about your subject; committed to working collaboratively as part of a team and across the school; willing to think creatively and take risks in the classroom; hard-working with excellent organisational skills.
