Job description

Richmond Hill School, located in Luton, is a large, thriving primary special school that supports children with SLD and complex needs. The school has witnessed yearly growth and currently has 280 pupils enrolled, a testament to its high regard among parents and the community. The school is divided into two sites: the East site on Crawley Green Road and the West site on Sunridge Avenue. As the Premises Manager at our East site, you will be responsible for maintaining the school premises to a high standard of safety, security, cleanliness, and tidiness. You will manage health and safety compliance and liaise with external contractors to ensure that our school facilities meet statutory obligations. This is a vital role that requires a diligent individual who takes pride in their work and is passionate about making a difference in our school community. The role will require you to use your initiative, work under pressure and be flexible with a problem solving approach. Suitable applicants will be skilled and experienced in DIY, have good practical skills and general maintenance ability, and able to use their initiative. There will be an element of lifting and carrying in the role. You will be able to prove previous Health & Safety knowledge, have basic computer skills, your own transport and be reliable, competent and trustworthy. The hours of work are 7 - 11am and then 3-6.30pm every day. (The exact timings can be flexible). We are a supportive school, so training and support will be given to the right candidate. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds and abilities. We are fully committed to the safeguarding agenda and the post will therefore be subject to satisfactory references (prior to interview) and an enhanced DBS check for the successful applicant. Any discrepancies regarding employment history will be followed up at interview. Previous employers will be contacted for verification.
