LILIAN BAYLIS TECHNOLOGY SCHOOL “Outstanding” OfSTED 2023 Required: Term-Time Only (39 weeks per year) Salary: Scale 3, Points 5-6 (£26,857-£27,240 actual salary) Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday) “This is a very happy and caring school. One pupil, typical of many, described the school as ‘home.’” (OFSTED 2023) Lilian Baylis Technology School is a vibrant, mixed 11-18 inner-city school located in Vauxhall, Lambeth. As a multicultural community school, we take pride in our diversity and strive to ensure every student and family feels valued, supported, and represented. We are seeking a highly motivated and personable Business Support Assistant (Receptionist) to serve as the face and voice of our school. As the first point of contact for staff, parents, visitors, and students, you will play a vital role in upholding our welcoming, professional, and safe environment. Key Responsibilities Frontline Welcome & Security: Provide a warm, efficient greeting for visitors, manage identity badging, oversee supply staff sign-ins, and maintain reception security and the Inventry system. Communication & Switchboard: Promptly handle incoming telephone calls, manage switchboard emails, monitor voicemail messages, and coordinate school-wide text and email communications. Student & Admin Support: Manage Free School Meals processing, student files, mail distribution, and administrative tasks. School Sales: Handle the sale and record-keeping of school uniforms and recreational equipment. First Aid & Welfare: Provide first aid care to unwell students (training provided if required) and contact parents or carers when necessary. What We Are Looking For Proven experience in customer service and managing a busy front-of-house or office reception. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deal with sensitive matters using tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality. Strong IT literacy (Microsoft Office and Google Drive) with excellent multitasking abilities. A proactive, adaptable mindset with a commitment to high standards, safeguarding, and equal opportunities.
