Job description

SEMH Teaching Assistant NJC Scale Point: 5 - 11 Actual salary: £19,328 to £21,261 per annum 32.5 Hours per week, 39 Weeks per year We are searching for the best education professionals to join our trust. Pool Hayes Academy are looking to appoint a committed and self-motivate SEMH Teaching Assistant, with a real drive to enhance students’ experience of secondary education. The successful applicant will be responsible for improving the social, emotional and mental wellbeing of identified vulnerable students in order to increase their academic outcomes. The role will include working with students with special educational needs and also includes working with students who are hard to reach and may have difficulties with attendance. This role will include delivering elements of the academic curriculum, with guidance from subject leaders, to enable students to achieve exam success. The department is part of a well led, dynamic team, whose colleagues all enjoy supporting the Academy and its culture of outstanding success amongst our students. The ideal candidate will have a grade 4/C or above in a range of subjects including English and Maths, have strong literacy and numeracy skills and hold a level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification. Experience of working with the 11-16 age group and working with young people who are vulnerable or hard to reach are essential.
