Working alongside teachers and SEND staff, the role contributes to effective teaching and learning by enabling students to access the curriculum, build confidence and make progress in line with their individual needs. The role supports the creation of a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment where students can regulate emotions, develop positive relationships and participate fully in school life. This includes the use of positive behaviour support strategies, trauma-informed approaches and de-escalation techniques to maintain engagement and wellbeing. The postholder works collaboratively across the school to support students with additional needs, contributing to consistent practice, effective support strategies and improved outcomes for students.
