Job description

We are seeking to appoint a hard working and dedicated casual teaching assistant to work at Fosse Way School, a school for children aged 4-19, who have an Education, Health and Care plan. We are seeking to appoint a hard working and dedicated teaching assistant to work at The Mendip School and/or The Mendip School Base at Ansford Academy. The Mendip School is a school for children aged 4-19 with Autism and Speech Language and Communication Needs. As a teaching assistant at our school, the role is incredibly varied meaning you could be providing more general classroom support and at other times you could be working on a 1:1 basis with an individual child. The post holder’s responsibilities include the meeting of pupils’ emotional, social and physical needs and liaising with teaching staff in the development and delivery of a differentiated curriculum. Applicants will need to be confident, resilient and have excellent communication skills. We are a hard-working and enthusiastic team who enjoy the challenges and opportunities of working within a school environment. Previous experience of working in a special school is an advantage, although training will be provided. The position will be an excellent opportunity for colleagues looking for a new challenge. Applicants from specialist or mainstream settings are encouraged. We warmly welcome visits to our school so you can see for yourself all we have to offer. Please contact the school office to arrange a convenient time. All applications should be made via MyNewTerm The Partnership Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
