Job description

Required for January 2027 , the SENDCo will lead and develop high-quality provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities across Ranelagh School. The postholder will ensure that students with SEND are known, valued, included, appropriately supported and academically challenged, enabling them to flourish as members of the school community. The postholder will work strategically and operationally to ensure that SEND provision is effective, compliant, ambitious and rooted in inclusive practice. They will support colleagues to understand and meet students’ needs through high-quality teaching, evidence-informed intervention, effective use of additional adults, and strong partnership with families and external professionals. Ranelagh is an 11-18 coeducational, Anglican Academy (converter) which is oversubscribed and has an excellent reputation for academic achievement and positive school ethos. The school has had four ‘outstanding’ Ofsted reports but we are not complacent and as such the provision for professional learning and development is something of which we are all very proud. Please do take time to read the job description and person specification for this role, as only applications that demonstrate they meet the specified criteria will be considered. Potential candidates may also wish to know that our admissions policy enables the school to prioritise the admission of children of staff recruited to posts in which there is a demonstrable skill shortage. This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. All staff employed in the school must be aware that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be undertaken. If you are interested in learning more about the position, please contact the Headteacher via, the School Office on 01344 421233 or by emailing recruitment@ranelagh.org.uk
