FT (with teaching/cover expectation) or negotiable 0.5 post We are looking for an experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) who will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the provision for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The role will include 2.5 days’ non-contact time and applicants are encouraged to state whether they are seeking this role as a full-time or part-time post as we will consider both when recruiting. The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable practitioner, who is skilled in working closely with teachers, pupils, parents/carers and external professionals to identify needs, implement appropriate support and monitor progress. The SENDCo also provides guidance to staff, coordinates EHCP processes, ensures effective record-keeping and promotes an inclusive approach across the school so that pupils with SEND can access the curriculum and achieve positive outcomes. They will also be a member of the Middle Leadership Team (MLT) for the school and work closely with the senior leaders to support the direction of the school. In fulfilment of all responsibilities and duties, the SENDCo should show commitment to the aims, policies, procedures and ethos of the Trust and strive to maintain these through personal conduct and effective relationships with colleagues and pupils.
