About the role

Elston Hall Learning Trust is seeking a highly skilled and committed SENDCO to join our team, based at Palmers Cross Primary School. The role would be suited to a professional who is passionate about inclusion and deeply committed to ensuring that all children with SEND are supported to achieve their full potential. Palmers Cross is an inclusive school who are proud to feature a 30-place Specialist Speech and Language Base, designed to provide exceptional support for pupils with communication needs. As SENDCo, you will work collaboratively with all staff to ensure that pupils with SEND are fully supported to thrive academically, socially and emotionally and given the opportunity to flourish. Central to the role is close partnership working with parents and carers, as well as effective collaboration with external agencies, to provide a team around the child approach. You will also work alongside special schools and support the successful transition of SEND pupils to secondary education where appropriate. The role is for 3 days a week and there may be flexibility around the working pattern. Our commitment to the wellbeing and safeguarding of our young people Elston Hall Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments will be subject to an Enhanced DBS and barred list check along with other relevant employment checks including at least two satisfactory references, prohibition check for teaching staff, right to work in the UK and qualifications. Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete a self-declaration form prior to interview and online searches will be carried out on all shortlisted applicants. References will be sought for shortlisted applicants prior to interview where possible. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020. The post holder must be aware of and adhere to the Trust’s and school’s policies and procedures in connection with Child Protection and Safeguarding.
