We are seeking an organised, proactive and knowledgeable Senior Science Technician to lead the technical support provision within our thriving Science Faculty. Working closely with the Head of Science and teaching staff, you will ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of laboratories, preparation rooms and practical resources across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. You will oversee the preparation of practical experiments, manage equipment and resources, maintain high standards of laboratory safety, and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, including COSHH requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to take a lead role in developing and enhancing practical science provision. You will manage stock and budgets, support practical examinations, contribute to departmental improvement initiatives and provide guidance to other science technicians. The successful candidate will play a key part in creating a safe, efficient and inspiring learning environment that enables students and teachers to fully engage in practical science. What We're Looking For You will have experience working within a science laboratory environment and possess a strong understanding of the sciences, supported by qualifications in a science-related subject. You will be highly organised, able to prioritise competing demands and confident in managing resources, equipment and laboratory processes to meet departmental deadlines. A sound knowledge of health and safety procedures, including COSHH, is essential. We are looking for a motivated team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can build positive relationships with staff and students alike. You will demonstrate initiative, attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement, while being flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of a busy school environment.
