Job description

Do you care about helping young people succeed and supporting their wellbeing every day? Lift Unity City is looking for a Student Support Leader to join our pastoral team. We believe every child deserves an excellent education, and our team works together to make that happen. About the role You'll look after students in a specific year group, helping them with behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing. This role is about building trusted relationships with students, families, and colleagues to create a supportive school community. Would you like to be part of a team where your work makes a real difference? Key responsibilities * Support students with their wellbeing by providing proactive pastoral support and early intervention to help them feel included in school life * Work with teachers and families to create plans that help students succeed * Work with the SEND team and other agencies to provide the right support * Monitor behaviour, attendance and punctuality, identifying trends and implementing effective strategies * Act as a key worker for vulnerable and "at risk" students, including those with SEND or safeguarding needs * Use data systems to track, analyse and report on student progress, behaviour and pastoral trends We are looking for someone who has * GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent * Experience motivating young people and promoting high expectations * Strong data skills - able to analyse trends and use insights to drive action * Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and the education sector * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with students, families and professionals * Calm, confident behaviour management with the ability to de-escalate challenging situation.
