Job description

The Bishop’s Stortford High School is a popular, oversubscribed 6FE school of 1300 students, providing a single-sex education for boys in Years 7 to 11 with a thriving mixed sixth form of 400 students, one-third of which are female. As a result of excellent teaching, our students consistently achieve fantastic academic outcomes at both GCSE and A-Level. “Behaviour is exemplary in lessons and around the school.” which means the school has a calm atmosphere and students are ready to learn. "Pupils are polite, well-mannered and kind.” and “are ambassadors for the school, demonstrating excellent behaviours in all that they do.” (Ofsted 2023) We relocated to a brand-new school, in September 2024, on a large site less than a mile from our previous location. We have a fantastic new learning environment, supported by cutting edge technology, and huge opportunities for the future. Our vast list of extra-curricular activities and trips means students engage positively with school and represent our values with pride. Staff turnover is very low, as they feel well-supported and enjoy working here, with many choosing the school for their own children.
