About the role

Would you like to join a high performing, ambitious secondary school well known for exemplary behaviour and conduct? Chulmleigh College is a school where teachers focus upon high-quality teaching and high standards. The college has enjoyed some of the best results in the region over the last 10 years and is heavily oversubscribed. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational peripatetic Woodwind Teacher to join our Expressive Arts Department. You would work alongside our thriving music department. You will deliver high-quality instrumental lessons to small groups. This is a fixed term position for 1 day per week (5 hours per week term time only) until July 2027. The College is one of the leading secondary schools for Music in Devon and works closely in partnership with other local schools and the Devon Music Education Hub. This award has recognised the high quality of both curriculum and extra-curricular music within the College. Chulmleigh College aims to encourage as many pupils as possible to participate in music, with opportunities for all pupils to attend lunch time music activities and perform at regular concerts. Moreover, 30% of pupils are engaged with either music or singing. Pupils enjoy the benefits of well-equipped music classrooms and practice rooms which are available for use by peripatetic teachers to deliver a full range of instrumental and singing lessons. The successful candidate will be expected to plan their own weekly timetable for each half term period, taking into account the availability of pupils. Main duties will be introducing and progressing beginner Woodwind Instrumentalists. The role will involve completion of all administrative tasks required. This initiative will be funded by the school music department, and the successful will invoice the school for tuition fees.

Pupils make exceptional progress at the school. Please see information available at School and College Data Performance Website The successful candidate will work alongside a committed and professional team to further enhance the excellent opportunities available to all our pupils.
