Secondary Technology Role We are recruiting a Secondary Technology Teacher to join our team of specialist SEN teachers. As a teacher at Northcott School, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and personalised lessons that meet the needs and interests of your pupils. You will work closely with the TLR Holder For Vocational learning to deliver an appropriate and engaging curriculum, plan, moderate and feedback to pupils to ensure that each student receives the best possible support and guidance. You will also contribute to the development of the school’s curriculum, policies, and practices, and participate in ongoing training and professional development. Our secondary pupils do follow the national curriculum, which is personalised and adapted to meet their needs. They sit a range of qualifications from Entry Level to Functional Skills and GCSE. We offer these courses up to 18 years of age. You will also be a tutor and as such, attend and compose Annual reviews of EHCP's for your tutor group. Experience in this area is desirable, although full training will be given by our EHC-CO and Pastoral Team. What you'll need to succeed A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)• Experience of teaching in a secondary setting, preferably with students with ASD or other special educational needs• A good understanding of the principles and practices of autism education, or a willingness to learn and develop your skills in this area• A creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning, with the ability to adapt and personalise learning to different learning styles and abilities• A positive and enthusiastic attitude, with the ability to motivate and inspire your students• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people CANDIDATES ARE ENCOURAGED TO VISIT THE SCHOOL, PLEASE CONTACT THE OFFICE TO ARRANGE Due to the volume of applications we receive we will only be able to communicate with those shortlisted for interview.
