Job description

The Royal Sutton School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly effective Teacher of Science to join our supportive and ambitious team on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational teacher to join our Science department and deliver high-quality teaching that engages and challenges students across the age and ability range. The successful candidate will play an important role in inspiring a love of Science, developing students’ knowledge and understanding, and supporting them to achieve their full potential. Key responsibilities Planning and delivering engaging, challenging and inclusive Science lessons. Teaching students across the secondary age and ability range, adapting learning to meet individual needs. Inspiring students to develop a strong understanding and enthusiasm for Science. Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing effective feedback and implementing appropriate support strategies. Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department and across the wider school. Contributing to the wider life of the school and supporting our commitment to high standards of achievement and behaviour. What you'll need to succeed Has a passion for Science and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. Has the ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire and challenge students. Has high expectations of all students and is committed to raising achievement. Can adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students. Builds positive and productive relationships with students, colleagues and families. Is committed to working collaboratively as part of a supportive and ambitious team. Is enthusiastic about their own professional development and contributing to the wider school community.
