About the role

The post is suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs. We welcome applications from forward-looking colleagues who relish sharing their skills and ideas and who want the chance to make their mark in helping to take the department and the Academy to the next level.

You will be a knowledgeable, inspirational, engaging, amiable and innovative teacher. You will set high standards and have high expectations for your pupils and be willing to contribute to the wider life of the school. In return, we offer extensive CPD and opportunities to progress.

We are

looking for a person who:

Ÿ Has a real passion for English.

Ÿ Can deliver the English curriculum across KS3 and KS4 to all ability levels (the ability and desire to teach KS5 would be most welcome).

Ÿ Can build positive and productive working relationships with staff, pupils and parents.

Ÿ Can deliver a creative and innovative approach to teaching and is able to deliver outstanding teaching and learning (or potential to do so).

Ÿ Can implement online learning tools within lessons where necessary to meet the diverse needs of learners.

Ÿ Show organisation and the ability to complete necessary assessment documentation and information needed for record keeping.

Ÿ Has a proven track record of success as a teacher, as exemplified by good examination results; for ECTs evidence should consist of an outstanding placement reference, particularly about the standard of teaching and learning.

Ÿ Is committed to making learning a challenging, exciting and worthwhile activity for our youngsters.

Ÿ Enjoys working with young people, has high expectations and can unlock potential.

Ÿ Is ambitious and will welcome professional development opportunities.

Ÿ Shows commitment, enthusiasm, and flexibility in their approach to the subject.

Ÿ Has the ability to stay positive and meet deadlines even when working under pressure.

Ÿ Has a good sense of humour!
