Job description

We are looking to extend our number of level 2 Teaching Assistants to support our most complex learners with Autism, learning difficulties and complex communication and behavioural needs. At the Pines we are continuing on an exciting journey, we have pupils from the age of 4 up to 16 and the school, all with a diagnosis of Autism. We are part of the Birmingham Special Schools Cooperative Trust and are a maintained Foundation Special School. Embra We are seeking to appoint committed, hard-working, enthusiastic Teaching Assistants who are able to demonstrate excellent classroom practice supporting the class teacher in meeting the individual needs of all pupils with ASC. The successful candidates will join a large team of experienced Teaching Assistants who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of pupils with a range of needs and dedicated to maximising pupil achievement. All staff are required to be flexible in their approach to working across all Key Stages and with a range of pupils with complex needs This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role. This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to all necessary pre-employment checks, including: an enhanced DBS; Prohibition check; Childcare Disqualification (where applicable); qualifications (where applicable); medical fitness; identity and right to work. All applicants will be required to provide two suitable references. In line with KCSIE 2026, shortlisted applicants will undergo online checks prior to interview.
