About the role

Dear Prospective Candidate, Devonshire Primary Academy wishes to appoint a temporary Additional Needs Teaching Assistant (ANTA) at Level 2 to provide learning support to pupils facing barriers to learning. The postholder will work as part of the school team to support the learning, development and wellbeing of pupils across the school. The successful candidate will provide targeted and general classroom support, working with individuals and groups of children as required. The role may involve working within different year groups or provision areas, including THE EYFS and specialist settings, depending on the needs of the school. The postholder will be expected to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities, undertaking duties appropriate to the role as directed by their Line Manager. This is a temporary contract (30 hours per week), from 02/11/2026 until 31/08/2027, in the first instance, and will terminate in accordance with the notice period when either: i) the child you are contracted to work with leaves school or ii) the child you are contracted to work with has their individual needs reviewed and the additional support is no longer required. At this stage, we would hope that we are in a position to offer an alternative ANTA post, as we have previously, but this could not be guaranteed. Our newly-designed curriculum provides a balance of core skills, enriched within a wide range of experiences and opportunities which enable all of our children to succeed, irrespective of circumstance. Our dedicated staff, parents and governors all work together as a team to make Devonshire Primary Academy the best environment for our children to thrive. At Devonshire Primary Academy, open methods of communication are well-established so that a shared responsibility for the development of the academy are much in evidence.
