About the role

Are you a skilled HLTA, ready to make a difference and help our children thrive? We are looking for an experienced TA/HLTA to provide excellent teaching and learning support for the educational and personal needs of our pupils. The HLTA part of the role will involve providing planned cover in KS1 and also working within our EYFS team. For the HLTA part of the role (6 hours), ideally you will have proven experience of delivering high-quality lessons and be confident in planning and assessment. You will be skilled in adapting resources for diverse learners and must be able to build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues. You should have a recognised HLTA qualification, or the equivalent experience and a willingness to study. You will need the ability to work well under pressure and demonstrate high standards of personal and professional conduct. The Teaching Assistant part of the role (18 hours) will involve working in a KS2 class with children who have an EHCP, including speech and language and social, emotional and behavioural needs. Experience of working with children with SEND is essential. We are also looking for someone who is ELSA qualified or willing to train as an ELSA to provide support and run interventions for children with social and emotional needs. If you would like to learn more about these roles, please get in touch with us using the details below. We are also available to show you around our school on Tuesday 3rd November, please make an appointment to do this. The roles may be split between more than 1 postholder, so having an HLTA qualification is not essential for the TA role. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020. We are part of the Blue Kite Academy Trust, a growing family of primary schools based in Swindon and Wiltshire, who offer excellent CPD and career opportunities, a competitive salary with scope for progression, a commitment to nationally agreed pay and terms, an excellent pension scheme and free staff health and well-being support.
