Our school's values are rooted in its Christian ethos, diversity and inclusivity. We have two vacancies for a Teaching Assistant in our School (ages 3-11). This vital role will be to support a high‑quality and inclusive learning environment, assisting children with additional funding, as well as general teaching assistant duties within the classroom environment. The role includes engaging children in purposeful learning interventions, phonics, number and communication activities and general classroom support. One of the roles may also spend time working in our Enhanced Pathway provision, working with our most vulnerable children with complicated learning needs, and we are especially interested in applicants with experience working with SEN children or a desire to do so. If you have a positive and flexible approach, and the ability to take the initiative and a desire to learn then you may be the person we are looking for. We are seeking someone who is a team player, gets on well with people and is able to work effectively with children, parents, school staff and outside agencies. You will be supported by the senior leadership team, inclusion team and the SENCo. A 30 minute lunchtime supervisor duty paid at grade 1.1, £13.28 per hour will be required. There may be Teacher cover opportunities available paid at grade 8.18 for the right candidate. Successful applicants will have, or be working towards, GCSE grade C or above or equivalent in Maths and English. Candidates with level 3 qualifications are highly desired, and opportunities to work towards these qualifications will be supported by our commitment to professional development and apprenticeships. The Employer reserves the right, where reasonably required for the proper operation of the school, to require the Employee to work with other age groups or classes across the school, including Early years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This is a 5 day per week, 30hr plus 2.5hr lunchtime supervisor role, but flexible and part-time working will be considered. The role of Teaching Assistant may be physically demanding and will require the postholder to be active throughout the school day, including supporting pupils in classrooms, around the school site and during educational activities. The role may involve assisting children who are distressed, dysregulated or displaying behaviours of concern. The postholder will be expected to use approved behaviour support strategies, follow individual pupil plans and school policies, and, where appropriately trained, support the safe management of challenging situations to ensure the wellbeing and safety of pupils and staff.
