Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team. Ideally, we require a TA with some SEND experience. We require a Teaching Assistant who can share and contribute to our high standards and expectations, supporting pupils and helping them achieve their goals. You will be required to work supporting a child with additional needs under the advisement of the KS1 SENCO and Class Teacher and external advisory services to implement a bespoke learning and sensory routine. You will be required to help a specific child in their play, learning development and discovery in line with the EYFS, key stage 1 and their own personal targets. We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have previous experience of working with minimally or non verbal children with ASD within early years, working on a 1:1 basis, working with children who have speech and language difficulties or mobility issues. It would also be beneficial if you have worked with children with or using the following; Experience of using AAC tools or communication frameworks TEACCH program including Makaton, Core Boards, Visual Aids Intimate care The role will also include a half hour cover to support at lunchtime. Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.15pm (with ½ hour for lunch) - 31 ¼ hours per week We require a TA who has experience of supporting children on 1:1 or a small group basis. Experience of, or willingness to learn, how to support a child’s needs including Speech & language and knowledge of supporting social skills and interaction. A competency in English, maths and IT is required.
