About the role

We are seeking to appoint a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join our caring, inclusive and supportive school community. This role involves working closely with individual pupils to support their learning, communication, emotional wellbeing and intimate care, helping them to access the curriculum and fully participate in school life. The successful candidate will be patient, nurturing and committed to meeting the needs of pupils with additional needs. The role involves supporting identified pupils with special educational needs, with time allocated across the week to provide dedicated 1:1 support. This includes support throughout the school day, including lunchtime supervision and personal care. The post is temporary, linked to Top Up funding and will continue whilst the children attend our setting, and the funding remains in place. Start Date: immediate effect or a mutually agreeable date to suit both parties. Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged. The successful candidate:

will hold a teaching assistant or childcare qualification at Level 2 or equivalent has experience of working with Nursery/Primary aged pupils has experience of or interest in working with children with special educational needs has experience of delivering relevant interventions/support We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
