About the role

We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate and experienced H6 Lead Teaching Assistant to join our team at Woodfield School, working primarily across our Physical Needs Pathway (PNP) classes. Our Physical Needs Pathway supports pupils with a high level of physical dependency, including those with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), severe learning difficulties and associated complex needs. As a Lead Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, personalised education, working closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure pupils are supported to achieve their full potential. This is a varied and rewarding role, requiring flexibility and confidence to work across different classes within the pathway. You will support the planning, preparation and delivery of engaging learning activities, adapt approaches to meet individual pupil needs and provide whole-class cover when required, under the overall direction and supervision of a qualified teacher. As an H6 Lead Teaching Assistant, you will also take on additional responsibilities, including supporting and supervising other Teaching Assistants and providing cover for teacher absences. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of special educational needs, particularly complex physical and learning needs, alongside excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills. You will be confident supporting pupils with moving and handling, personal care and their wider physical, social and emotional needs. Above all, we are looking for someone who is patient, proactive, adaptable and passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of our pupils. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to develop their leadership skills while making a meaningful contribution to our school community.
