Salary – Scale C, Point 5, £13.70 per hour Temporary initially until 31 August 2027 , possibility of extension, subject to needs/funding Part Time 27.5 hours per week Term Time only Required as soon as possible

We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Nest specialist provision, supporting children who at times may find the main classroom environment overwhelming. The Nest provides a nurturing, structured space where children can feel safe, supported and ready to re‑engage with learning. You will work as part of a dedicated team of teachers and teaching assistants, helping to support pupils’ academic, emotional and social development.

The role will include:

Supporting children within the Nest provision Working collaboratively with the SENDCO, class teachers and support staff Assisting pupils to regulate and access learning successfully Lunchtime duties and supporting children during unstructured times This is a temporary contract initially until the end of the academic year, with the potential to be extended subject to needs and funding. We are looking for someone who is patient, flexible and committed to making a positive difference to children’s wellbeing and learning. Experience of working with children with additional needs would be beneficial, but most important is a warm, nurturing approach and a willingness to learn. You will be required to undertake employment checks, including an enhanced DBS with a children’s barred list check, prior to the start of this role. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and you will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced DBS check with barred list. If you have information to declare it may be protected under the Exceptions Orders and you may not be required to declare it. You will be asked to make a criminal conviction declaration if you are shortlisted for the post.
