About the role

Sunrise Academy, Lowestoft 37 hours per week, 39weeks per year- Permanent Salary: £25,185- £25,989per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience) Actual Salary:£21,370-£22,058per annum We are seeking a caring and dedicated Special Teaching Assistant (STA) to join our team and support children and young people with a range of special educational needs, including communication and interaction needs and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. This rewarding role focuses on helping students develop confidence, independence and the skills they need to succeed both in education and in life. Working closely with teaching staff, you will provide classroom support, assist with learning activities, help monitor student progress and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will build supportive relationships with students, encourage engagement in learning and help them develop resilience, social skills and emotional wellbeing. The role may also involve supporting students with personal care, supervising break and lunchtime activities, and promoting positive behaviour throughout the school day. The successful candidate will have experience working with children or young people, ideally within a SEND or SEMH setting. You will be patient, empathetic and able to build positive relationships with students, whilst maintaining high expectations and supporting them to achieve their full potential.
