Job description

Teaching Assistant Contract: Permanent Hours: 32.5 hours, 39 weeks (term time plus one week) Working pattern: 8.30am - 3.30pm, Monday to Friday Salary: Pathway 3,£20,500 - £21,861per annum (FTE £27,254 - £29,064) Site: Queen Katharine Academy Closing date: 9am on 21st August Start date: asap Please note the trust may decide to withdraw the advert before the closing date or interview suitable candidates prior to the advert closing. Your role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning and physical needs, helping them overcome barriers and fully access their education. Working closely with teachers and the SENCo team, you will adapt learning activities, support individuals and small groups, and encourage independence, confidence and engagement in every lesson. You will be someone who can build strong, supportive relationships with students, motivating and guiding them with patience and care. Your ability to explain tasks clearly, adapt resources and respond to individual needs will help students make meaningful progress. You will also contribute to maintaining a positive learning environment, supporting behaviour, promoting inclusion and ensuring every student feels respected and valued. We are looking for someone with experience of working with children, strong communication and organisational skills, and a clear understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice. You will be a team player who can work collaboratively with colleagues while also using your initiative to respond to the needs of learners.
