We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide support to pupils, helping them engage with the curriculum, develop their skills and build confidence in a positive, nurturing and inclusive environment. We are looking for someone who is patient, caring and enthusiastic, with a genuine commitment to supporting children and helping them achieve their full potential. Required to start as soon as possible! 16.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only

About the Role:

We are looking for someone:

To provide support to pupils across the classroom, helping them to engage positively with their learning and develop their skills and confidence.

To demonstrate a patient, caring and proactive approach when supporting pupils with a range of abilities and learning needs.

To foster a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment that encourages pupils to participate, develop their independence and achieve their potential.

To support the teacher with classroom activities, assisting pupils with tasks and adapting resources and approaches where appropriate to meet individual learning needs.

To work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider school team to support pupils’ learning, progress and personal development.

To encourage positive behaviour, social skills, confidence and independence, helping pupils to develop effective learning habits.

To monitor and support pupils’ progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and contributing to observations and records where appropriate.

To assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning activities.

Previous experience working in a school or with children is desirable, but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with their learning and development, working alongside the class teacher to help them make progress and achieve their potential. Assist with classroom activities, learning tasks and interventions, providing additional support to pupils where required. Encourage pupils to develop their independence, confidence, social skills and positive attitudes towards learning. Support the teacher in managing positive behaviour and maintaining a calm, safe and inclusive classroom environment. Monitor pupils’ engagement and progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and raising any concerns or achievements as appropriate. Support pupils during break times, lunchtime, school trips and other activities as required. Help prepare, organise and maintain classroom resources and learning materials. Work collaboratively with teachers and other members of staff to ensure pupils receive appropriate support and encouragement. Promote a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment where all pupils feel valued and supported.
