Job description

Our Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our Baby Room! This is an exciting role working in our 0-2 provision, also known as the 'Penguins' key group. We offer a nurturing start for our children, with a child-led ethos that puts individual needs at the heart of what we do. Our days in the 0-2 provision flow with the needs of the children with sleeping and eating, carefully built around experiences that are tailored to support each child's learning and development. If you are someone who is passionate about child-led routines, learning, and promoting the highest standards of nurture for our youngest children, we would like to hear from you. We particularly welcome applications from those with experience working with babies or in early years settings, as well as primary school reception teaching assistants seeking to develop their career working with younger children. Key Duties: Support pupils one‑to‑one or in small groups, helping them learn, grow and feel confident. Lead engaging group activities that spark curiosity and build early learning skills. Encourage independence, positive behaviour and resilience in every child. Build warm, supportive relationships with pupils and their families. Keep learning records up to date and contribute to assessing children’s progress. Create an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported. Support children’s social and emotional development, including behaviour regulation. Work flexibly to meet the needs of the setting throughout the year. Essential Qualifications / Experience: Relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent. Appropriate experience working with children in an educational / nursery setting. An understanding that children/Young people have differing needs and knowledge of inclusive practice.
